Where did all the people go?

Here’s the church, here’s the steeple, open the doors and see all the people.

24 weeks

Here’s the church, here’s the steeple, open the doors and see all the people.  Oops, must be Saturday.

I remember that little hand demonstration from my childhood.  My cousin would fold his hands, turn them around to see the fingers, which he would wiggle to simulate the people in the church.  The second time, though, he would fold his hands differently, so that the fingers were outside his hands.   Not much of a thing really, but that’s what came to mind after writing the title to this post.  But this is far from a cute little kids game.  This is deadly serious.  The question is, where did all the people go?

The answer is that they were murdered.  And it is the worst episode of human slaughter in the history of mankind. Consider: Since Roe v. Wade, there have been over 52,000,000 legal abortions in the U.S.  Debra Moore posted this on her blog.
The number of Americans killed in all our major wars is as follows: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_casualties_of_war
Revolutionary War……………..…………25,000
War of 1812.…………………………………20,000
Mexican War…………………………..…… 13,283
Civil War…………………………………….625,000
Spanish American War…………….……..2,446
World War I……………………………..… 116,516
World War II………………………………405,399
Korean War ………………………………….36,516
Vietnam War………………………………. 58,209
Persian Gulf War……………………………….299
War Against Terror………………………..4,850

Total……………………………………….1,307,518

The number of human beings slaughtered has now eclipsed those of the Nazi regime, Pol Pot, Rawanda, Darfur and every other regime bent on genocide and every war since the revolution – combined!  The horror we have perpetrated makes every genocide, every holocaust, and every cataclysmic event in the history of man pale in comparison.

And in case you have any doubt about their being babies, here is just an introduction.  This is the video of a speech given by a 12 year old girl – articulate, poised, and absolutely right.  She won the competition by the way, in spite of significant pushback from her school.  She was threatened with disqualification if she spoke on that topic, and one offended judge quit in protest. Take a moment to listen.

Think of the impact that 52 million additional people would have had on our economy, on our growth as a nation, on our Social Security program.  We would not be talking and concerning ourselves with the Social Security Trust Fund running out of money, because 50 million people would eventually be adding to it.

I came across this quote, attributed to Barak Obama:

I’ve got two daughters – 9 years old and 6 years old.  I am going to teach them about values and morals.  But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.

Mr. President:  Will you teach them that this is what a baby looks like at 24 weeks?  Will you let them decide for themselves that their “mistake” is not so easily wiped clean?  Will you teach them that two wrongs do not make a right?  What morals and values will  you teach them?  Will you teach them that the Bible, which you say you believe, has “Thou shall not kill” near the top of the list of the ten commandments?  Will you teach them that the weak and the defenseless are the ones most in need of defending?

Or will you teach them that it’s OK to have sex before marriage as long as you don’t get pregnant  –  But if you do, we can take care of it?

Some studies have estimated that at least 25% of pregnancies result in spontaneous abortion or miscarriage. This seems to be a much higher rate/number than that of “chosen” abortions, which you’re arguing against.

Should we attribute these abortions to God? 🙂
