Sunrise Earth

Forty years ago on Christmas Eve 1968, the three Apollo 8 astronauts, having circled the moon, sent us the beautiful image of the blue-and-white Earth in the distance, suspended in the blackness of outer space.  The three men read from Genesis 1 and wished everyone on Earth a “Merry Christmas.”

On this Christmas in 2008, I urge everyone to look again at our beautiful, miraculous blue planet, and to listen again to the words from the Genesis account of creation, and to ask yourself, “How can this not be a miracle from God?”

Blessings to all today.  For this is the day we celebrate the one who came to Earth as one of us.  God became flesh.  Jesus paid a debt He didn’t owe, because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay. Yes, Jesus is the gift that perfectly fits the size of every heart! Jesus is my everything, He is my all! “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” ISAIAH 9:6
